New Pictures

Well I took Em out for a little photography outing...I figured maybe I could catch a good picture instead of paying someone for MEDIOCRE ones!! I have ranted enough I know, but boy was I dissappointed with those pictures! I tried and some actually turned out pretty cute! I would LOVE to get some more during Thanksgiving...maybe with her precious little cousins? I would like some by the creek out at Papaw's, SO Allison and Kathy, I will be calling!

I took Em out for some new pics one afternoon - this one is too funny...we took pics in our pasture and beside Mamaw's house...Emma wasn't in the best mood, but we got her to smile a couple of times!

Sleeping Beauty

Em has been having a hard time sleeping, UNTIL she is in between her Dad and I! She sleeps like a baby when she is in the room with us! This is a picture of her before I went to work one morning....and yes, we could kick her out of the bed with us(but we haven't yet)

Em's whoopsie...

Em had a major whoopsie this past Wednesday...she fell off our bed and almost bit through her lip! It was so traumatizing (I'm not sure who was worse, me or Em!)...we both were covered in blood! I first thought she had bit the end of her tongue off when I got to her...and mind you, I was only about 5 feet away - she isn't really scared of anything, so I've got to always be on my toes I guess! She was a trooper - most of the week she had a puffy lip, but now it is scabbing over. Looks a lot better! I don't have a great pic of the lip - she wouldn't cooperate with me taking a pic, but if you look close at this one, you can see it...

Mamaw's 86th!

We celebrated my Mamaw's 86th birthday on Saturday. Em had a great time eating cake and ice cream! Mamaw is the best looking 86 year old I've ever seen! We are so blessed to have her in such good shape...we love you Mamaw!
Also, some of these pics are from Mamaw's front yard - Em ran around with Rylee and Caly while we were letting our cake settle in our stomachs...oh to have that much energy again!

Goin' to the Fair!

Hello! We took Em to the fair for the first time - and no we didn't even eat a funnelcake!! What we're we thinking? There were a lot of people and things going on, so Em had a ball people-watching! Her dad went to our local western store and bought her some news 20X jeans and John Deere boots...even a belt to match! I thought it was so cute that he thought about dressing her up for the occasion! Some of these pics are by the pig exhibit - which Em loved - and some are by the John Deere exhibit...we thought it would be cute to get her pic with her boots by the tractors...yes, we are that cheesy!

Hurricane IKE!

OMG! Boy did we have a crazy few days this past weekend...Hurricane Ike came pushing through around 7 a.m. Sat morning and didn't pass til about 5 that afternoon....it was tense! We had wind gusts up to 80 mph, and sustained winds at 50...it did a lot of damage to Nacogdoches and the surrounding areas...we were out of power for 3 days, and we were roughing it to say the least! We were on the worst side of the storm - the right side quadrant, and it was the worst weather I have ever seen in Nacogdoches....even worse than Rita in '05...we had lots of debris in our yard, but praise the Lord, no major damage...we were lucky because it "tore up the turf" everywhere else. We have been out of school all week and possibly the rest of the week. Can't say that I'm not enjoying the extra va-cay!

By the way...

Em was a trooper...you can tell by the pics huh! She had to take a luke-warm bath a couple of days, but it was okay!

OHHH - and she learned how to walk during that old storm!! She is walking everywhere now and we are so excited about it! She is very wobbly, but she still thinks she's something! She is growing so fast!

Well, I would love to say that we are partying and blowing and going every weekend, but sometimes we just hang out at home with our little kid...and we don't know how we lived before her!! She is so much fun! I just threw in a pic of me and Danny for fun! Love to all!

Girls night out!

Me and Em had a fun girl's night out last weekend! We met Jessica and Leslie for dinner to eat, drink and be merry! Doesn't she look cute?!

Pa's Birthday! Lots of B-days this time of year!

Pa's birthday was in concurence with the Dallas Cowboys football game! Yahoo! We were excited about football season to get started again AND we loved celebrating Pa's 55th bday!

Em turns the BIG 1 !!!!

We had such a wonderful time with everyone at Em's birthday party! We had a houseful...the weather didn't quite work with us - it rained and we were going to party outside - but it worked out and we had a ball! Em had an awesome time with oue friends and family and boy did she make out like a banchee!! She wasn't too interested in the gifts - I had to do the opening, but she was definitely into the cake! She had cupcake inside her ear, eyes and hair...oh yes, and it was packed up her nose as well! It was gross, but so cute! How many times in your life do you get to do that?! Well for my sake, maybe just once a year! Haha...BTW - those pics are on my mom's camera, so I will download cake pics later...I promise I'll get them up soon!

We got such an awesome surprise when Mama Kaye and G-Pa got here...they had a little hitchhiker named AVA that hitched from Lubbock! Em was so excited to see her! We were so happy she got to come along and see Em - they played and had a good time together. Ava is such a mess! She is so adorable and it was great to spend some time with her since we don't get to see her as much as we would like...maybe next year Uncle Kevin and Aunt Al can come down too! Thanks to everyone who came - we love you!

Gimme's birthday

What a fun time we had at Gimme's house for her 29 and holding birthday(teehee...I'm 29, she had me when she was 26, you do the math...) ;)

The girls had lots of fun - like always - and Em really enjoyed the cake! She is a little sugar ant!! Wherever sugar is, she goes!!!

My old big chair

Em loves to sit, sleep, eat and crawl all over our big chair in our living room...this was all in one day, notice the outfit change...we are still a sloppy eater, so I had to clean her up with a new shirt! There is also a drool stain in one of the pics...no it wasn't Danny...I'll give you 1 guess who left that little gift! Haha...Emma is such a mess! She keeps us laughing!

Play time with my cuz's

Emma hosted a play time in her room last week with my brother's little girls, Caly and Rylee. Caly and Em are only about a month apart, and they play so well together! Throw Rylee in the mix and you have a party! Rylee is too cool with my sunglasses on...we sure enjoyed having them down for supper and play time! You can look at Em's room and tell that they had a good time!

Sooo tired

Em was so tired Saturday, that she decided to put herself down for a nap! This is the first time she has ever just fell asleep on the floor! It is tough playing all day!

Got Caught!

Em loves to climb...she climbs our side tables all the time - we've given up getting her down and just put pillows around the bottom if she should fall off! She is probably eating something here she shouldn't....we call her a little goat because she will stick ANYTHING in her mouth! Is it funny to anyone else that she is nimble enough to climb, but she WON'T walk?!

Em's Birthday!

It's almost Em's first birthday! We are tentatively making plans to have her party on August 23rd...we are going to bar-b-que and play in the water! Can't wait! I will put up more info as we figure it out! Hope to see everyone!

Pea Picker!

We helped in the pea patch this year over at Mamaw's - it made several bushels of peas! Thank goodness Mamaw bought a pea sheller or we'd still be shelling! Uncle Larry brought home some really cool dish pans for us to use with putting up the peas, etc...but Em and Ace found another way to use it! Notice that we are still in our PJ's while playing in the pan...she starts plundering as soon as her feet hit the floor! I learned how to put up peas and we have a bushel in our deep freeze...we enjoyed the time we got to share with family in the pea venture!

It's hard being Em!

Em just woke up Wednesday morning and she crawled up our side tables between our chair and our couch and sat in the BIG chair with her bottle scratching her belly...what a rough life huh?

What a good lookin' kid!

I thought this was a cute pic...it is somewhat current...I will get my mom to take a new one to update our other picture...Em was a week old in the family pic on the side! She is almost a year old now! Geez!

Family Vacation

We had a great time at Lake Brownwood with Danny's family! Mama Kaye and Nana had us (aka Emma) really rotten by the end of the weekend! Thanks Allison for the pictures! BTW - thehayshousehold blog is hilarious! The Hays' really know how to "rough it"! Jokes aside, we had a great time seeing everyone! We need to do it more often - now that we have the Family Vacation Home! :-)
